Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.
Minimum Requirements:
- EMS Certified - current and active Instructor permit
- Must have working knowledge of EMS Charter
- Recent experience in EMS
- Teaching experience preferred
- Experience in educational program development, implementation, and evaluation
- American Heart CPR instructor and first aid instructor or ability to obtain
Responsibilities:
- Complies and performs regular audits to insure compliance with all rules and laws applicable to Fire and EMS training per Ohio Department of Public Safety
- Performs ongoing review and maintains written evaluation of the program content and instructor
- Maintains written documentation of regular evaluations of student performance and achievement throughout the courses
- Assigns faculty responsibilities and scheduling of program courses as applicable
- Designs the role and objectives of student preceptors as applicable
- Assures courses offered within the EMS training program are developed under the direction of a physician who specializes in emergency medicine and each course that deals with trauma care is developed in consultation with a physician who specializes in trauma surgery
- Prepares or approves all documents required to be submitted for accreditation and charter renewals
- Issues a certificate of completion, pursuant to section 4765.24 of the Revised Code to each student who successfully completes the EMS training program and passes the course final written and practical examinations
Desirable Qualifications:
Experience working with high school and adult students
